Gerald R. North

Texas A&M University

This is the story of my life and career as I started in Appalachia, as I became educated as a physicist, became a tenured faculty member, changed my path to climate science just as the field was beginning. I interacted with many different countries and institutions, eventually arriving at GSFC, where I was first study scientist for TRMM. Finally I moved to Texas A&M University, where I have continued for the last 32 years. From my vantage point I have been able to see trends in the science and the institutions.
